Chief Technology Officer, Communitech

As Communitech’s CTO, Kevin is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization’s technology strategy and leading the development and deployment of data innovation and advanced technology products and services for founders and members.

Kevin has over 20 years of experience in entrepreneurial, technical and leadership roles in the private and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to his current role, Kevin has led several initiatives aimed at helping companies adopt advanced technologies or capitalize on emerging markets including digital media, open data, 5G and advanced networks; electric, connected & autonomous vehicles, and AI. Kevin has also held Senior Research, Vice-President, President and C-level roles with several companies in the high-tech sector and has and continues to serve on many private and not-for-profit boards and committees. Kevin holds a Bachelors and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.

Tova Davidson (she/her)

Executive Director, Sustainable Waterloo Region

Tova leads her organization under the Board of Directors, and is responsible for developing the organization’s strategic direction, supporting team members, and building key relationships throughout Waterloo Region. She brings her experience in public relations and communications to creatively approach sustainability opportunities. Paired with her business background, Tova is uniquely qualified to collaborate with organizations in Waterloo Region to help drive change locally and provincially. A former recipient of the City of Guelph Mayor’s Award of Excellence and member of the Guelph Mercury’s Top 40 Under 40, Tova always leads by example while inspiring others to do the same.

Sameer Vasta

Sameer Vasta is a public policy and public affairs professional with an academic background in cultural anthropology. He has worked on various projects in the areas of public sector transformation, digital government, open data, energy conservation, healthcare transformation, international development, and organizational change.

He is a founding member of the Ontario Digital Service and currently works in the public service in the area of people and talent. 

He passes his time reading his never-ending stack of library books, writing letters to penpals, and exploring the urban landscape on foot.
